The year 2016 is an auspicious year for SANLOOB. After all, this year’s theme,” PCJ: My Parish, My Home, in the Year of Mercy” embodies what SANLOOB as a ministry is all about.  More than ever, SANLOOB is committed to uphold the mission and vision of the Presentation of the Child Jesus Parish.

SANLOOB is a combination of two words taken from the ministry’s Patron Saint, SAN Lorenzo Ruiz,  and the Tagalog word for the core or inner being of a person, LOOB .

It is a ministry for boys aged from 7 to 16 years old and are residents of developing communities that under the jurisdiction of PCJ.  Its goal is two-fold: the feeding of the body and the feeding of the soul. The boys are served substantial meals and at the same time they also undergo values and spiritual formation. The ultimate goal is to tap and train these boys to become altar servers in keeping with the resolute dedication to serve God as lived by San Lorenzo Ruiz, who himself was an altar server in his youth.
